STAR Smog Check Station
We provide STAR-certified OBD2 smog testing for model year 2000 and newer vehicles. Our testing connects to the vehicle’s onboard diagnostic system. We do not offer tailpipe smog testing or smog checks for vehicles older than model year 2000.

Most smog checks are done in 20–30 minutes.
Why STAR matters
The Bureau of Automotive Repair directs a share of vehicles to STAR-certified stations based on the vehicle's history and the station's performance record. If your notice carries that direction, only a STAR station's certificate will clear your registration.
OBD2 smog checks
For model year 2000 and newer vehicles: biennial renewals, change-of-ownership tests, initial registration for vehicles coming in from another state, and re-tests after repair. Results are transmitted to the DMV and BAR electronically as soon as the test finishes.
If the vehicle fails
We explain the failure in plain language and hand you the report so a repair shop can work from real data. Come back after the repair and we will run the re-test.
